Nestled within the popular well-established Adamstown development is Alderlie, the newest phase of this pioneering scheme. Ideally positioned, Alderlie is just minutes from the train station and two highly regarded primary and secondary schools. This brand new housing by Castlethorn is also within very close proximity to the local Adamstown neighbourhood shopping centre and crèche.
One of the major factors which contributed to Adamstown’s selection as Ireland’s first ever Strategic Development Zone was its location beside national and suburban rail and road networks. Adamstown benefits from a brand new integrated transport system comprising a railway station, opened in April 2007, which can bring commuters to Heuston Station in just 15 minutes. It also benefits from a new Quality bus Corridor, linking the 25b bus service directly from Adamstown rail station to Dublin City Centre via grange Castle business Park. There is a new road network linking Adamstown via the outer ring road to the N4, the N7 and onto the M50 orbital motorway. There are also convenient cycle and pedestrian routes running right through the heart of Adamstown.
Seven new morning peak trains to Grand Canal Dock, and eight new evening peak trains from Grand Canal Dock begun on Monday 21st November, with limited stop services in the opposite direction:
A vast amount of effort has been made to ensure that Adamstown’s youngest citizens are very well catered for. The first two primary schools, Adamstown Educate Together and St. John the Evangelist, Adamstown, commenced classes in September 2007. In addition, Adamstown Community College, the secondary school, opened in September 2009. The first crèche, operated by Giraffe in Adamstown Castle opened in 2007.
